Cybertruck Hits $59,990, and the Luxe Package Is Gone
Tesla's Cybertruck price cuts made headlines. The change that actually matters after delivery is quieter: the Luxe Package's permanent FSD and free Supercharging are gone from new Foundation Series inventory.
Cybertruck pricing has moved a lot this year, and most coverage stops at the sticker. I want to go one step past checkout: what actually changes for you after delivery, once the discount headlines stop mattering and the ownership costs start.
What happened to the price
In February 2026, Tesla launched its cheapest Cybertruck yet at $59,990 (AWD) and cut the Cyberbeast from $114,990 to $99,990 — a $15,000 drop. The backdrop: Cybertruck sales fell 48% in 2025, down to 20,237 units from 38,965 the year before. Cutting the floor and the flagship at the same time reads like a response to that drop, not a routine annual adjustment.
The change that actually affects ownership: the Luxe Package is gone
Here's the part that matters after you've taken delivery, not at checkout. The Luxe Package used to bundle FSD (Supervised) and free Supercharging with certain Cybertrucks. It's been discontinued. By July 2026, Foundation Series inventory sitting in the high $60,000s comes with only 3 months of FSD and 3 months of Supercharging — no permanent FSD transfer, no lifetime free charging. If you own an earlier Cybertruck that came with Luxe, none of this touches you; your permanent perks aren't being clawed back. If you're ordering into today's Foundation Series inventory, budget for FSD and Supercharging as ongoing costs starting month four, not perks you keep for the life of the truck.
A question worth asking before you order, not after
Foundation Series inventory now ships with its own 3-month FSD and 3-month Supercharging trial — the same length as the referral program's 3-month FSD trial. Neither the pricing reporting behind this dispatch nor Tesla's referral page spells out whether a referral code's trial stacks on top of what's already bundled with the truck, or simply overlaps the same three months. I'd ask that directly at your Tesla appointment or through support before assuming you're getting six months instead of three — I'm not going to guess at an answer neither source gives me.
What this doesn't change
None of this is a tax credit or a rebate — it's Tesla's own pricing and package decisions. If you're budgeting a Cybertruck purchase, the number to plan around isn't just the $59,990 or $99,990 sticker; it's what FSD (roughly $99/mo once a trial ends) and Supercharging cost you starting in month four, now that Luxe's permanent version of both is off the table for new Foundation Series orders.
