What a Tesla Referral Code Is Worth in 2026, Model by Model

Here's the referral reward translated into dollars, model by model, with how each figure is derived — so you can judge it honestly rather than trust a vague "free stuff" claim. This is the deep version of the table on the main guide.

Values reflect Tesla's US program as of July 13, 2026. FSD (Supervised) lists at about $99/mo, so 3 months ≈ $297. Tesla adjusts terms often — always confirm the reward in your order summary before you pay.

The FSD math

FSD (Supervised) subscribes at about $99/month. A 3-month trial is therefore ≈ $297 in subscription you don't pay during the trial. It's a trial value, not cash off the car.

Model 3, Model Y, Cybertruck

All three get the same 3-month trial (Cybertruck: Premium AWD & Cyberbeast only; the Dual Motor AWD is excluded). No model gets a bigger referral reward than another.

Tesla Solar

A flat $400 off Solar Panels or Solar Roof, as a separate referral. If you're buying both a car and solar, that's two referrals and two rewards.

Model S & Model X

$0. Removed from the program in March 2026. Budget accordingly and don't rely on a code for those.

One row in that table is not like the others

Read the table again and notice that it mixes two different kinds of value, which is why summing it would be a mistake. Four rows describe a trial of a subscription; one — solar — describes money off a price. Those behave nothing alike:

• $400 off solar is cash. It reduces what you pay, it is worth $400 to everyone who qualifies, and its value does not depend on anything about you.
• Three months of FSD is forgone subscription. It is worth about $297 to a buyer who would otherwise have subscribed, and considerably less to one who wouldn't — for whom it is an experience rather than a saving. The figure is a list price, not a transfer.

There is a second asymmetry worth knowing if you're buying both. A solar referral is separate from a vehicle referral, so a buyer doing both claims two benefits — but also consumes two of the referrer's ten permitted referrals for that calendar year. That matters to whoever's code you used, not to you, and it is the sort of thing worth knowing if the code came from a friend rather than a rotation pool.

Which rows go stale first, and how to check each one

A dated table is only as good as a reader's ability to re-check it, and these rows do not decay at the same rate or verify in the same place:

• The benefit itself (the trial, the $400) is programme-level and changes without announcement. It is verified on Tesla's own refer-and-earn page, and definitively in your order summary before payment.
• The trim exclusions — Cybertruck Dual Motor AWD being outside the trial — are the finest-grained rule here and the likeliest to catch someone, because a price or a model name will not reveal them. They are verified by the exact trim string on your order, not by the model.
• The dollar derivation ($99/month × 3) is the fastest-moving of all, because it is arithmetic on a list price that Tesla can change at any time. If the subscription price moves, the ≈$297 moves with it — the trial's length is fixed, its value is not.

That last point is the reason this page derives the figure rather than just printing it. A number you can reconstruct survives a price change; a number you copied does not.

The referrer's $250 Tesla Credits

Separate from your reward, the owner whose code you use earns $250 in Tesla Credits per successful vehicle or solar referral, capped at 10 per calendar year. It doesn't affect your trial at all.
